Three influences collide to bring this identity together – French inspiration, Asian inspiration, and the Chinese
Opera Jing Ju.

There is a story, a fictional one, behind this wine label line. My imagination brought together the owner’s French grandfather Michael and Asian grandmother Froide. The beautiful, operatic women who graces the label is Frodie. The costume she wears is reminiscent of the ancient theatre dress and her headdress is full of symbols. She represents the ancient and the modern. Incidentally, her name “Froide” means cold in the French
language. My name “Hanyu” means cold rain, so there is a personal connection between this imagined, beautiful Froide and me.
